I was so blessed to photograph many rare bird for the Los Angeles area, such as a Orchard Oriole, Scott's Oriole, Tropical Kingbird, Red-throated Loon, White-throated Sparrow, Williamson's Sapsucker, Ross's Goose, Cackling Goose, Blue-footed Booby, Summer Tanager and a Eurasian Wigeon. It was an exciting time!

This is not a bird, but a tame Ferret I discovered while birding. The poor thing was starving and trying to catch ducks in a nearby lake. I picked the Ferret up and it obviously had belonged to someone since it was so tame and affectionate. I googled the nearest animal shelter since it is illegal in California to have this species as a pet. The shelter called a local resource, that is licensed to have Ferrets, so the animal was going to be well care for.
