The Nutmeg Mannikin, also known as the Scaly-breasted Munia or the Spice Finch, is an introduced species. This bird was added to the California Bird Records Committee State List in 2013. The listing has proved somewhat controversial, as the species is native to South Asia, ranging from India to southern China and south-east into the Phillipines and Indochina.
