Capturing the Splendor of Nature and Divine Light
Birds of Spring 2012
Welcome to my visual diary of the beautiful birds I photographed during the Spring months. On the first day of Spring I went to Palm Desert to photograph the Costa's Hummingbird (see my Hummingbird Gallery). I was very happy to also see the Verdin Songbird, endangered California Gnatcatcher, and Greater Roadrunner. I have also ventured forth locally to capture birds enjoying the blooms of Spring.

Six Mallard Ducklings eating algae off the side of the koi pond they were being raised in. This photograph was taken in the serenity garden of a local hospital and the mother Mallard apparently comes back each year to this garden to raise her offspring. I was a visitor to the hospital and I watched several hospital patients come to the garden to enjoy the ducklings and they said it took their mind off the reason they were hospitalized. The power of nature!
