A Dark-eyed Junco, with a beak full of spiders, uses a Dahlia flower as a lookout to ensure it is safe to go to its nest, which is located underneath the Dahlia plant. This photograph was selected as the cover image for the Descanso Garden's membership magazine in the Spring of 2017.
