Birds of Summer 2019

This is a male Northern Red Bishop, which is Native to Africa. This colorful weaver is a popular cagebird, and escapees have established nesting populations in coastal southern California.
This was the first time I had come upon this species and I photographed 2 males and a female in the city of Pico Rivera, California.
