A beautiful male Monarch Butterfly, resting on a "Plum Crazy" rose, before he takes his first flight. This Monarch was born in my garden on May 8, 2015, but the weather was cold that day, so he stayed safe in his mesh castle until the weather warmed up and then he was released.
