READING FOR JULY 21, 2021

Today's reading comes to us from my brother, Leland, who unexpectedly transitioned back into The Light on June 30, 2021. While I did not ask Leland to come forward, he had something to say, and he told me to use my Angels and Ancestors Oracle cards to convey his universal message. The card he drew was “Wise One - Grow Within Your Current Situation.”

This is a such a profound card to receive, so let me try and explain. This is not just a reading, but a story about how the universe speaks to us and how the pieces of our lives are not always clear when they are happening, but a bigger picture can emerge as we walk our paths.

After my brother made his transition, I gathered up all of his journals to read as part of my grief therapy. My brother was an avid writer of poetry and all of his poems were channeled, since 99% of the time there was never an edit on the journal page. His poetry was always about his deep faith, his love for God and Jesus, and his perspective on life’s challenges.

On June 9, 2021, which was twenty-one days before Leland made his transition; he wrote his last poem and entitled it, “Clarity.” No one in the family had read it. It is clear that he felt death was near, and he wrote about the love that is within each of us.

Around the same time, my brother had called me to tell me that his dog had awoken him in the middle of the night and guided him outside into his backyard. He thought his dog was warning him of an intruder, but instead, he found an owl perched on the electrical pole in the corner of his yard. It was rare for my brother to see an owl, and he was so excited that the owl stayed with him for more than ½ an hour. My brother loved owls, hawks, ravens and crows and whenever he would see these birds, he would ask them to leave him a feather to add to his growing feather collection.

Fast forward to June 23, 2021, and this was the day my brother and I celebrated our grandmother’s 100th birthday. We adored our grandmother, Ruth, and on this special occasion I had asked my grandmother to provide a universal message for us. She had told me to use the same Oracle card deck my brother selected today, but she drew the card, “Shaman – Trust in Higher Powers.” That Oracle card, and her message, are the next item in this gallery.

But before my grandmother drew the Shaman card, I had asked her to draw one card for me and one card for my brother. The card she drew for Leland was card #9 from the Mystical Healing deck. The card said, “Embrace Meditation.” I thought this was so odd. My brother loved to meditate every single day. It was an integral part of his lifestyle, so I could not understand why my grandmother would select this card for him. The artwork on the card featured a man resembling Jesus, dressed in a blue robe. His right hand was cupped above his left hand and in-between his hands were a crescent moon, the earth and a golden circle. Around the head of Jesus was a golden halo with 3 small white pyramids pointing north, east and west and the two top corners of the card featured crescent moons.

Honestly, the only thing that stood out to me about the card was the color blue of the robe, for when Jesus visits with me His Light is often blue, and the 3 white triangles. My brother had redone his backyard and painted a few white triangles on the block walls surrounding his property.

Since I did not grasp the message my grandmother was trying to convey for my brother, I did not share the card with him. But several days after my brother was back in Spirit, I understood that the card foretold the future. Leland’s eldest daughter told me that hours before he made his transition, he had talked to her and told her that during his meditation that day he saw himself sitting on the floor, dressed in a blue robe, and a Spirit entered his space. He could not see the Spirit, but the Spirit said to him: “I AM here to give you peace.” The Oracle card had the number 9 on it and my brother wrote his last poem on the 9th day of that month.

While we view life in a linear form, the Wise One Oracle card shows us how we really live in an eternal moment of NOW. There is a bigger picture at play that we cannot possibly comprehend. The Wise One card is another piece of the story (or picture) and features key elements of my brother’s final weeks on earth.

The Wise woman is dressed in a blue robe with triangle shapes facing south (the direction missing on the Embrace Meditation card); thus signifying completion. An owl is perched on her right shoulder, with a crescent moon in the sky. A Raven is perched on her left arm, and a feather from each of the birds in her hair.

Right after my brother was back in The Light, he gifted me with two Raven, 1 Hawk, and 3 Crow feathers in my garden. In fact, he left the Hawk feather right beside the Jesus bust he gave me for Christmas in 2014!

So, with this card, my brother wants us to know that our souls contain eternal wisdom and love. We see ourselves as separate beings while we are here, with different names, different sexes, different ages, different colors and different lifestyles. But, we are ONE with all that is and can access the magic and knowledge of ONE to carry us through life; no matter our current situation. The birds, the moon, the stars, and the use of Oracle cards, are just some of the guiding elements to remind us that we are all Wise ONES. That we are beings of Love. And, when we access and truly embrace this wisdom, there will be harmony among us.

In closing, I would like to share my brother’s last poem.

Life scared me yesterday.
It almost went away.
I begged for it not to, for I was on the peak of insight.
I was aware of the thin line on which we all walk.
We need one more day,
if only to express love.
We need to reflect on how abundant it is,
and the potential of what could be.
Harmony for you, for me, and all of humanity.
There is something about being here that needs to be explored, and cherished in the deepest of ways.
Love was, and is, even when we don’t see it or feel it.
It’s in us. It is us.
Abundantly.
When we are feeling lost, love becomes so clear.
So abundantly clear that it’s all we really care about.
Don’t waste time in bonded thoughts.
Love large with all of our hearts,
and praise what a gift God gave us,
in LOVE.
