Capturing the Splendor of Nature and Divine Light
Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens
I am a proud member of the Los Angeles Zoo, which is home to more than 1,100 animals from around the world, representing more than 250 different species, many of which are endangered in the wild. The zoo is also a Botanical Garden, featuring more than 800 different species of plants, which provide food and shelter for many native and migratory birds, and also provides browse for many residents of the zoo.

This endangered Sumatran Tiger named Castro Jr., or C.J. as he is commonly known, was born on March 3, 2013 at the Sacramento Zoo where he was a favorite among guests. C.J was moved to the LA Zoo and made his public debut on February 6, 2015.
C.J. is a potential breeding partner for the Zoo's female Sumatran Tiger, Indah, because the Sumatran tiger is one of the most endangered subspecies of tiger in the world. There are less than 400 left in the wild.
