One of two male Sumatran Tigers born at the Los Angeles Zoo on August 6, 2011.This tiger subspecies is found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra and is now classified as an endangered species since experts estimated the population of Sumatran tigers at fewer than 400 in the wild.
February 9 and 10, 2013, was the first Snow Day this young tiger got to experience. At first he was not too thrilled with the difference in his enclosure, but in a short time, he was figuring out that food treats had been left hidden in the snow and the snow was fun to play in. It was great to see how much he and his brother enjoyed Snow Day.
