Snow Day at the LA Zoo 2013
February 9 and 10, 2013, marked Snow Day at The Los Angeles Zoo! The young Sumatran Tigers and American Black Bear loved playing in the snow. The Snow Leopards were not as excited, but they were beautiful to watch. I hope my photographs convey just how much fun the animals had!

For Snow Day, each animal exhibit had a box filled with treats. Unfortunately, blue water based paint was used to decorate the outside of the box and combined with wet snow, well, the paint came off on the critters. From a photography standpoint, I was not thrilled to capture images of a blue Snow Leopard, but Snow Day is all about enrichment for the animals and this Snow Leopard was loving exploring the goodies of the box.
